The Westin Bazaar Ramadan Buffet Review

This year, The Westin Kuala Lumpur has designed a generous buffet spread of various cuisines through The Westin Bazaar from 06th – 30th April 2022. Chef Halim and the culinary team at The Living Room have gone to great lengths in offering a new culinary experience with a spectacular mix of local favourites coupled with Modern International specialties.

The Westin Bazaar features stations with various famous local cuisines in a setting resembling the bazaar commonly found in Malaysia during the special month, indulge in the sumptuous buffet while interacting with their Chefs at the live stations.

Beef Shin Rendang

Star of the Buffet

The signature dishes from five Chefs namely Chef Halim, Chef Hamid a.k.a Chef Nakal, Chef Firdaus, Chef Hafizi, and Chef Steven is the centre of The Westin Bazaar buffet spread. Diners are spoilt with the mouthwatering choice of dishes crafted attentively by every Chef.

Assorted fresh seafood, kerabu, and appetizers

Chef Halim

Being the Captain of the Kitchen, Chief Executive Chef, Halim Chek Lah is also man of kerabu and ulam. His creation Classic Dulang Compose Kerabu promises a good selection of Kerabu from Kerabu Chicken Fuseli Pasta, Kerabu Kaki Ayam Cili Padi, Kerabu Mangga Berperut Lembu, Kerabu Smoked Salmon Buah Delima, Gado-Gado Ketam Kuit Lembut (Local Vegetable Salad with Soft Shell Crab) and many more.

Spice of Clay and hot dishes

Chef Hamid a.k.a Chef Nakal

The mischievous one in the kitchen, Executive Sous Chef, Hamid Buyong champions the Spice of Clay and hot dishes in The Westin Bazaar buffet spread. Fish Head Curry is a must try among the other signature dishes consisting of Briyani Rice with Chicken, Vegetable Dhal, Aloo Gobi, Bindi do Pyaza and Chicken Tandoori Skewer. Not forgetting are a myriad of flavourful condiment of Lime Pickle, Mango Pickle, Raita, Mint Yogurt, Mint Chutney and others.

Kambing Golek Berempah Kuzi Bersama Nasi Briyani

Chef Firdaus

A little shy but with warm gesture, Chef de Cuisine, Firdaus is an expert at grilled island. At his Panggang Membara corner, diners can request for Kambing Golek Berempah Kuzi Bersama Nasi Briyani, Beef Shin Rendang, Baked Whole King Red Snapper with Spicy Percik Sauce and others.

Bubur lambuk

Chef Steven 

New member to the team, Chinese Sous Chef, Steven Swee has the perfect pick for those with oriental taste buds. Whet your appetite with his signature dishes – Chinese Duck Rice with Scallion, Roasted Chicken, BBQ Chicken and Roasted Duck complemented with tasteful sauces, pastes and soups.

Diners can find All Day Dining Sous Chef, Hafizi busy offering his signature dishes at the Smoked or Salai Station. From Daging Salai, Ayam Salai, Itik Salai, Ikan Keli Salai to Siput Sedut, local cuisine lovers will definitely appreciate these treats. 

In addition to the star signatures, there will also be soup counter, Indian Delicacies, Kid’s Favourites, Noodle Station, the well-known bubur lambuk and many more flavourful delights.

The Living Room has also crafted an expansive drinks and desserts menu to match the variety that is on offer. From refreshing air kurma, bountiful of tropical fruit slices, flavourful ice creams, Malay kuih and traditional sirap bandung creations to irresistible delights such as Orange Chocolate Cake Jelly Bean, Fudgy Cashewnut Brownies and Cream Caramel.

Another highlight of The Westin Bazaar is that it serves desserts made of Durian where diners can enjoy durian pancake, durian cendol and durian apam balik to satisfy their sweet tooth.
