Sinopsis SMALL TOWN HEROES Movie

The story started when Hero, who was originally from the city, moved to Xingfuyuan orphanage in the countryside. Hero comes from a single parent family and he is sent to an orphanage by his mother and she promises to take him home during Chinese New Year.

Hero lives in an orphanage called ‘Xin Fu Yuan’ (House of Happiness) and he is waiting for the day of his return. Since Hero has lived in the big city since he was born, he couldn’t hang out with the kids there at first. He also always tells people that he is not an orphan because he will be staying here for a while and his mother will come to take him home soon.

He befriends the quirky Ah Feng, who loves martial arts novels and Aisyah, who wants to be a wrestler. When Hero`s mother did not pick him up as she had promised, the trio embark on a journey together to search for Hero`s family.

The phrase ‘I am not an orphan’ has caught Feng’s attention. Feng is a child who loves to go out and is very fond of Chinese Kung Fu novels and superheroes, he always disturbs other children in the orphanage because of his playful nature. Still, Feng will be an obedient child when his father, Zhong Wu visits him once a week. Feng tries his best to persuade Zhong Wu to take him home as well.

Feng has the same chemistry as Hero, so they become good friends quickly. Apart from that, there is also a Malay teacher named Aishah, who is very fond of Chinese Culture and with that, the three of them built their friendship in ‘Xin Fu Yuan’. The three of them share dreams with each other, because Aishah wants to be a Hijab Muslim wrestler while Hero and Feng just want to go home with the family.
