Harrods Hotel Ground Breaking In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


  
The global iconic Harrods Hotel, will begin construction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The hotel will be built on a site located strategically at the intersection of Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Conlay, at the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle.

Harrods Hotel will not only bring a globally renowned symbol of excellence here to the heart of Kuala Lumpur, it will put Malaysia on the global map of tourism, on par with other Harrods Hotel in London, United Kingdom and Harrods Hotel in Costa Smeralda in Italy.

The ground breaking ceremony was held to commemorate the start of the Harrods Hotel construction yesterday, 29th Jan 2013 at the Seri Melayu Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur. Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Datuk Abdul Aziz Ismail, Corporate Representative of Jerantas Sdn Bhd, His Excellency Dr. Hussain Ali Al-Abdulla, Vice Chairman of Qatar Holding LLC and Encik Shaharul Farez Hassan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad was present at the ceremony, joined by Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing, YB Senator Dato’ Raja Nong Chik Bin Dato’ Raja Zainal Abidin.

The Harrods Hotel is an integral component of Kuala Lumpur’s newest integrated development, poised to be the new landmark in Kuala Lumpur. The integrated development spans 5.48 acres and will comprise two residential towers, an office building and a retail podium, with direct connectivity to the award-winning Pavilion Kuala Lumpur mall.


One of the targets under the government’s Tourism National Key Economic Area (NKEA), is to designate the BBKLCC as Malaysia’s premier shopping district. Harrods Hotel will complement the vibrancy of the cosmopolitan lifestyle, adding to its comprehensive mix of malls, hotels, retailers and leisure experiences.
