What is so special about Fatimah Food Café @ Busana Menara MARA?

Hey! now I am craving for nasi kerabu and nasi dagang while writing this post. Well let’s start, Fatimah Food Café is founded by Datuk Abd Ghani Salleh and his wife from Kelantan. This café has been around for about 3 years and now they have another branch or outlet at SOGO KL food court. The café is named after his mother-in-law Puan Fatimah who is also a reputable entrepreneur from Kelantan.

The recipes are originally from Kelantan and that day we tried their nasi kerabu, nasi dagang, nasi lemak, laksam, the homemade hot lemon drink and also assorted snacks and tidbits. Ah! As you know I love spicy food and Kelantanese cuisine is my all-time favourite as well. So let’s eat!

Nasi Kerabu

Nasi Kerabu

Ah! This is one of my favourite Kelantan cuisine and also at Fatimah Food Café. The rice is blueish color and I like it with lots of ulam (herbs and vegetables) and of course the kuah or sambal makes it more appetizing. Plus the meat or fish floss, ayam goreng berempah and salted egg are so tasty. The correct way to eat it is to mix everything together the rice, ulam, condiments, chicken and salted egg… yummeh! One more please!

Nasi Dagang

Nasi Dagang

Nasi Dagang is a Malay traditional dish from East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia with brown rice steamed with coconut milk, with kari ikan tongkol or fish curry and acar or pickled vegetables. The fish curry is really kaw with Malay spices and goes so well with the rice.

Laksam

Laksam

This is another version of laksa but the noodle is very special it’s a type of rice rolled noodle from Kelantan. The kuah or gravy is thick creamy with fish and assorted herbs and vegetables.

Hot Honey Lemon Drink

Hot Honey Lemon Drink

Well after having all the rice dishes is good to soothe the throat and stomach with Hot Honey Lemon Drink. This is homemade and it’s not too sweet or sour but has quite a strong lemon aroma and its very soothing especially for those who has sore throat or cough or flu.
