Recap! on 27 February, 18 Students from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam presented their innovative concepts for 2050 at the Southeast Asia national finals. Following the motto of “Create. Learn. Grow.”, the task for the participants in the national finals of the Henkel Innovation Challenge was to develop a concept for an innovative product or technology for one of Henkel’s business areas: Laundry & Home Care, Beauty Care or Adhesive Technologies. A jury consisting of Henkel-managers from different business divisions evaluated the ideas and presentations.

The most convincing idea came from Team Innocraz. Their innovative concept, named Schwarzkopf Cap-Able, is worn on the head like a shower cap and its interior is filled with bioengineered cellulose gel-villi and artificial intelligence system. A shampoo cartridge attached to the cap dispensed organic shampoo made of Hippophae, which is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. With this innovation, hair can be washed and nourished without the use of water.

The second prize winners were Tran Do Nguyen Linh and Huynh Hanh Ngan of Team SAGITT from Foreign Trade University, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam); while   third prize winners were Wang Andai and Sherryn Tham of Team Incredibles from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).

The winners from team Innocraz are glad about their success and excited about what is going to happen next. They have booked their ticket for the international final, which will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from March 31 – April 2, 2014. The three winning teams from the international final will meet the Henkel CEO Kasper Rorsted and will receive an additional prize: while the winning team will get an around-the-world ticket worth 10,000 euros, the second place will be awarded 4,000 euros and the third place 2,000 euros.
