World Women Economic Forum 2011


The World Women Economic Forum held on 19-20 Sept 2011 at the Sunway Resort Hotel aims to bring together women to discuss the critical issues and challenges facing women as well as to promote critical thinking on the future of women.  It is also intended to enhance the networking among women so that a Women Economic Network.


The mission of the World Women Economic Forum is to address key issues that affect women and their economic potential and at the same time inspire and motivate women to help themselves to work together to harness their fullest potential. Successful corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and women of inspiration will share, discuss and provide insights on the evolving roles of women in the economy.


Strengthening the economic empowerment for women will further increase women economic opportunities, access to more and better jobs, a business climate that supports them in starting and doing business, a financial sector that gives them access to financial services tailored to their needs, and having greater livelihood security in times of food and fuel crises.


Women’s economic empowerment requires bold and sustained action to advance omen’s opportunities and rights to ensure that women can participate and be heard.

 
Fresh ideas are needed in order for women to meet challenges of a multifaceted and unpredictable business environment. This Forum aims to help women redefine their roles to meet the challenges posed by today's global economy.
