Korean Drama Series: My Lovely Girl – Rain is Back

Woozt! I got the news that Rain is set to make his grand return to the small screen after a four year hiatus with the latest miniseries My Lovely Girl. Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) will headline the star-studded drama with K-pop girl band f(x)’s Krystal Jung (The Inheritors) in her first leading role. Well, since there are so many sensational superstar and k-pop, this drama series is going to be sort of ulzzang girls and boys portraying Korean fashion and makeup trend. It’s a hit.

Also joining the cast are two members of South Korean boy band INFINITE – lead vocalist L (The Master’s Sun) and Hoya, who is making his television drama debut with the series.  The stellar ensemble has placed this romantic drama in the major spotlight, making waves amongst fans and media across the region.

Set against the dazzling backdrop of Korea’s entertainment industry, My Lovely Girl is a romantic drama that tells the story of two individuals who heal their painful memories of love with music.

Rain plays Lee Hyun Wook, a songwriter-producer and CEO of an entertainment agency – a character that bears resemblance to his off-screen self – who lost the love of his life to an accident.  He appears to be cold and nonchalant at first but gradually opens up after he falls in love with Yoon Se Na (Krystal Jung), an aspiring songstress who happens to be the younger sister of his late ex-girlfriend.

My Lovely Girl will give viewers a glimpse into the fascinating world of K-pop in the company of their favourite idols. Fans of singer-turned actress Krystal can expect a refreshing makeover from her, as she sheds her usual glamorous and feisty persona for a sweet and demure image.

I bet Rain is ready to take viewers across Asia by storm this October 2014 with My Lovely Girl.
