Taking place outside Plaza Low Yat, the Bukit Bintang Star-Lit Street Festival is a flagship urban activation supporting Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026), bringing together live music, cultural performances, creative arts, street gastronomy and immersive experiences in one of Southeast Asia’s busiest tourism precincts.
Designed as an open, street-based festival, the event invites both locals and international visitors to experience Malaysia through its people, culture and creative energy.
As Malaysia gears up for VM2026, the country has set ambitious national targets of 47 million tourist arrivals and RM329 billion in tourism receipts. Urban festivals such as the Bukit Bintang Star-Lit Street Festival play a strategic role in achieving these goals by activating public spaces, extending visitor dwell time and enhancing destination appeal.
Bukit Bintang, which records over 20 million annual footfall, is a natural stage for high-impact tourism storytelling and international visibility, particularly in the areas of shopping, entertainment, culture and the night-time economy.
The festival also underscores the growing importance of the night-time economy in global tourism cities. Through curated programmes featuring local artists, performers, creative entrepreneurs and food operators, the event supports talent development while generating economic opportunities for the wider community.
Beyond on-ground engagement, the festival is expected to generate millions of physical impressions and tens of millions of digital impressions, amplifying Malaysia’s tourism message across global media and social platforms.
The festival will feature a wide range of visitor-friendly activities, including food and beverage offerings, acoustic band performances, DJ sets, dance performances, live band performances, cultural showcases, as well as interactive stage games with prizes and a lucky draw open to the public throughout the duration of the festival.

The Visit Malaysia Year 2026 – Bukit Bintang Star-Lit Street Festival will take place on Saturday, 3 January and Sunday, 4 January 2026 from 12pm – 12am, with programmes open to the public.
