Enlighten yourself with the disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. Learn to embrace nature amidst the hustle and bustle of city life as Ikebana promotes minimalism and achieving peace in mind and health from 23 to 26 Feb 2012.

Ikebana is a unique manner in which flowers are arranged as more than casually putting flowers in a vase, Ikebana taps on other elements of the plant, such as its stems and leaves, and draws emphasis toward shape, line and form. Tokyo Street will be transformed into an Ikebana Garden, boasting intricate, incredible and lovely flower arrangements from Sogetsu School of Ikebana.

Witness the intricate art of floral arrangement by local Ikebana community. Marvel at their display of creativity and workmanship as they exhibit their individual floral arrangement at Tokyo Street Event Hall, Level 6.

Ikebana Workshop
In tandem with the exhibition, there will be workshops to explain Ikebana, its history, basic Sogetsu Ikebana, demonstration by the presenters and an Ikebana tutorial. Also, basic Ikebana equipment will be provided and shoppers can take their floral arrangements home.

Ikebana Workshop for Children
Pavilion Junior members, aged 4 to 12 years old, can learn the art of Japanese-style floral arrangements free.
