“I think I speak on behalf of many runners when I say we are all happy and excited to return to Dataran Merdeka. The energy and excitement here today was palpable and we are grateful that KLSCM 2026 was able to happen. We are enthused to be able provide sportsmen and the community with a sporting event that lets runners of all skill levels come together.

We believe in giving runners a world-class event for them to shine in, to become the champions that they are, while improving and elevating the standards of distance running in Malaysia overall. We want runners to know that we see their passion for running, their efforts and dedication and we are happy to provide them with that platform for growth and excellence.” — Rainer Biemans, Project Director of KLSCM and Director of Dirigo Events (rights holder and organiser of KLSCM)

“We are delighted to return as the Official Footwear and Apparel Partner of the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon for the second consecutive year. KLSCM brings together runners of all levels who share the same passion for running and the drive to challenge themselves, and we are proud to support them with the footwear and apparel they need as they work towards their personal goals. We look forward to celebrating their dedication and achievements once again at this year’s race. More than just a race, we hope KLSCM continues to inspire Malaysians to move with purpose and experience how a 'Sound Mind, Sound Body' uplifts both physical and mental well-being.” — Boon Tib Soom Nik, Country Manager of ASICS Malaysia

“The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon brings together thousands of people, each with their own reason for being at that start line. Some are chasing a personal best, some are taking on a challenge they never thought possible, but every one of them is choosing to move forward. At IHH Healthcare Malaysia, we want the runners to know they are supported from the moment they start, with more than 400 medical staff from across our six Central hospitals on standby throughout, ready to provide care when needed. For us, it is about taking healthcare beyond our hospital walls, being there for our communities and supporting people as they challenge themselves to go further.” — Dr Shuba Srinivasan, Regional CEO (Central) & Vice President of Clinical Services, IHH Healthcare Malaysia

The Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon is Malaysia’s premier distance running event and the first and only race in the country to be awarded the World Athletics Elite Label—achieving that distinction in 2025 and again in 2026.
