Following early ticket sales opened on 29 May 2026, strong advance booking performance has confirmed high demand for this new daily service, making it a key addition to the airline’s international network.

Strategic Regional Expansion & Tourism Support

To mark the introduction of the route, Vietjet Thailand hosted a Media & Agent Seminar in Kuala Lumpur on 6 August 2026. The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy in Malaysia, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Kuala Lumpur Office, travel agents, and media partners.

"Since opening sales on 29 May 2026, we have seen encouraging booking performance for the Kuala Lumpur–Bangkok route. The early response is in line with our expectations and validates our confidence in the potential of the Malaysian market as we prepare for the inaugural flight on 9 October." — Mr. Pinyot Pibulsonggram, Vice President of Commercial and Customer Service, Vietjet Thailand

He added that beyond the launch, the airline's focus remains on building sustainable two-way demand alongside TAT, Tourism Malaysia, and trade partners while offering affordable fares under the airline's 'Enjoy Flying' concept.

"Malaysia remains Thailand’s second-largest international visitor market, with more than 2.4 million Malaysian travellers visiting Thailand during the first half of 2026. This reflects the strong and longstanding tourism relationship between our two countries." — Mr. Mongkol Wattaro, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Kuala Lumpur Office
