Amid the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, as well as the momentum of Visit Malaysia 2026 and Visit Johor Year 2026, the Let’s Go Malaysia Cultural, Trade & Tourism Promotion Event was successfully held at Saint Tropez Hotel Changsha, Hunan on 6th March.

Jointly organised by KMA Production and Hunan TV International, the event marked the official launch of the cross-border travelogue programme “Let’s Go Malaysia” The initiative aims to deepen cultural exchange, tourism promotion and economic collaboration between China and Malaysia.
Distinguished guests attending the launch ceremony included Puan Sri Nur Qistina Lim, Chairman of KMA Production; En Radzlan Shah Ramlan, Regional Director (South China) of Tourism Malaysia; En Safwan Nizar Johari, Acting Investment Consul of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in China, Pn Farhana Kamaruddin, Trade Consul for Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, Second-Level Inspector of the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce; Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism; and among other notable representatives from government, tourism and business sectors.
More than a programme launch, the event served as a cross-sector platform connecting government agencies, industry leaders and cultural representatives from both countries.
Participating organisations included Tourism Malaysia, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Tourism Johor, as well as the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Corporate partners such as EcoWorld Development Group Berhad, R&F Princess Cove, and IFOOD Expo also participated, while nearly 100 mainstream media organisations attended the event, reflecting strong interest in expanding Malaysia–China cooperation across tourism, culture and business.
In her remarks, Puan Sri Nur Qistina Lim, Chairman of KMA Production and KMA Travel & Tours, expressed appreciation for the support from Tourism Johor:
“As this year marks Visit Johor Year 2026, we hope today’s launch will attract more visitors, especially from China to experience the unique attractions of Johor.”
The cross-border travelogue “Let’s Go Malaysia”, jointly produced by KMA Production and Hunan TV International, serves not only as a television programme but also as a cultural bridge connecting the people of both nations. The series explores Malaysia’s diverse cultures, rich culinary traditions and the historical heritage of Johor through immersive travel storytelling.

The launch ceremony featured engaging highlights, including lively interactions between Hunan TV host Tong He and Malaysian Chinese representative Nigel, whose dynamic “travel companion” pairing captured the spirit of the programme. Malaysia’s celebrated badminton champion and Olympic mixed doubles silver medallist Goh Liu Ying also shared a special pre-recorded video message played during the event. Although she was unable to attend in person, she conveyed her warm greetings and expressed her excitement about being part of the programme, while highlighting several beautiful hotspots in Johor that she described as “a whole new level of experience” during the filming journey.
Guests were also introduced to authentic Johor flavours through a culinary presentation by Hock Kee Kopitiam founder Mr Nick Ng, featuring signature delicacies such as egg tarts, traditional herbal tea and the unique beverage “Tiger Bites Lion,” offering attendees a taste of Nanyang culture.
Following the cultural showcase, the event shifted focus to investment and business cooperation opportunities. With Chinese enterprises increasingly expanding globally, Malaysia has emerged as a strategic destination thanks to its strong infrastructure, favourable business environment and strategic location at the heart of ASEAN.
To provide authoritative insights for investors, Mr. Saifwan, Acting Investment Consul of MIDA China, and Pn Farhana Kamaruddin, Trade Consul for Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Guangzhou, delivered presentations outlining Malaysia’s latest investment policies, tax incentives and bilateral trade opportunities.
During the investment promotion segment, corporate representatives presented key development opportunities. EcoWorld Development Group Berhad, a leading Malaysian public-listed property developer, showcased its integrated industrial ecosystem. Meanwhile, Ms. Sun Jun, Deputy General Manager of the Sales and Planning Department of R&F Princess Cove, highlighted the strategic potential of the development located along the Johor Strait.
Particularly with the ongoing development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), Johor is emerging as a prime hub for regional headquarters and supply chain operations, benefiting from competitive operating costs and seamless connectivity to Singapore’s financial ecosystem.
Under the witness of distinguished guests, a Memorandum of Cooperation Signing Ceremony was also held. The agreement was signed by Puan Sri Nur Qistina Lim, Chairman of KMA Travel & Tours; Lei Ting Han, representative of Nine Square Media; and Mr Dicky Lee, founder of the IFOOD Expo, a veteran organiser with more than two decades of experience in food exhibitions.
The signing marks the official launch of preparations for the upcoming Let’s Go Malaysia Expo, scheduled to take place 30th July-2nd August this year, symbolising a new phase of Malaysia-China cooperation powered by media collaboration and exhibition economies.
In an interview, Mr Phan Yan Chan, Chief Development Officer of EcoWorld highlighted Malaysia’s strategic advantages, “Malaysia offers a stable political environment, strong infrastructure and a strategic position at the centre of ASEAN, providing access to a market of over 600 million people. It is an ideal destination for companies seeking to optimise their global supply chains.”
Unlike traditional industrial developers, EcoWorld focuses on building a comprehensive industrial ecosystem platform, providing high-voltage power supply, fibre connectivity and one-stop services covering company incorporation, manufacturing licences and tax incentive facilitation. To date, the group has attracted more than 1,800 companies, including Chinese enterprises such as Haitian Group and Deye Group, as well as global technology leaders including Microsoft and Google.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Tan Kaiyuan, Deputy Director of Hunan Broadcasting System International Channel emphasised that the launch event demonstrated the strong momentum of Malaysia-China cooperation. From the scenic landscapes featured on screen to the tangible business partnerships formed at the venue, Let’s Go Malaysia has evolved beyond a television programme into a comprehensive platform integrating cultural exchange, tourism promotion and industrial collaboration.
As China and Malaysia celebrate over five decades of diplomatic relations, leveraging Hunan’s role as an inland gateway for international cooperation and Malaysia’s strategic position as the gateway to ASEAN, the partnership between the two countries is entering a new era of opportunity.
With the official broadcast of “Let’s Go Malaysia,” a new bridge connecting culture, tourism, commerce and people-to-people exchanges between Malaysia and China has een firmly established.
