Discovering the 13 Gems of Jiangsu during Jiangsu Tourism event in Kuala Lumpur was an eye opener. I recently was honored to attend the “Charm of Jiangsu” Tourism Promotion Conference & Networking Dinner organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism together with the Jiangsu Tourism (Singapore & Malaysia) Promotion Centre on 5 September at the Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown.

Supported by mutual visa-free arrangements and other facilitation measures, 330,000 foreign visitors entered or departed Jiangsu this year, an increase of 14.5% year-on-year. Among them, 49,000 travellers entered visa-free, 4.5 times more than the same period last year.
To make travel more convenient for international visitors, Jiangsu has introduced a series of initiatives such as enhanced tax refund services, expanded coverage of tax-refund shops, and simplified procedures.
Foreign credit card POS machines have been added at key cultural and tourism sites, while a "Charm of Jiangsu" Tourist Information Centre was opened at Nanjing Lukou International Airport to provide services such as travel enquiries, online bookings, guided tours, and mobile payment support.

China Eastern Airlines further boosted accessibility by launching two enhanced services. Passengers arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport with onward travel to the Yangtze River Delta can enjoy discounted "Air-Bus Intermodal" connections directly from the airport to cities such as Suzhou, Wuxi, Kunshan and Zhangjiagang.
Travellers taking high-speed rail to Shanghai Hongqiao Station can also connect seamlessly to China Eastern flights at Hongqiao or Pudong via the dedicated "Air-Rail Intermodal Transfer Service Centre", with check-in and baggage transfer handled on site. Full details are available on the airline's website and app.
