Here’s to growing a cleaner, greener tomorrow! I recently spent a meaningful morning planting trees at the AEON Hometown Forest Programme at AEON Mall KL Midtown. Ahead of the mall’s official public opening on 5th November 2026, AEON CO. (M) BHD. (“AEON”) continued its long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability by hosting a community tree-planting initiative right around the new venue.

Planting 1,500 Shrubs with the Community

During the event, around 150 participants came together to plant approximately 1,500 shrubs as part of the mall’s overall landscaping efforts.

It was inspiring to work side by side with a diverse crowd, including 30 energetic schoolchildren from The Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur, members of AEON’s Board of Directors, AEON employees, and members of the local community. Seeing everyone unite to create a greener, more welcoming environment around the new mall made it such a rewarding experience.

This initiative perfectly reflects AEON’s core philosophy: pursuing peace with the customer as its starting point, respecting people, and contributing to the local community.

More Than Just Shopping: Green Spaces & Eco-Friendly Design

The tree-planting program is just one component of a much larger landscaping effort across AEON Mall KL Midtown designed to enhance the surroundings for future visitors and local residents.

What impressed me most is how deeply sustainability has been integrated into the mall’s actual development:

1.5-Acre Rooftop Linear Park: Brings a dedicated green sanctuary right into the urban cityscape.

AEON’s goal here goes far beyond retail—they are building a warm community hub where families and friends can gather, spend quality time together, and stay connected with nature in the city.

I loved seeing firsthand the care and intent behind this project. I can't wait to head back and experience the finished space when AEON Mall KL Midtown officially opens its doors on 5th November.
