The 12 Pubs of Christmas You Should Visit This Festive Season

Tis’ the season to be jolly, and Jameson Malaysia is bringing a different kind of Christmas to the city’s nightlife. As part of the fourth theme under Bar-United’s Bar Hop, Jameson’s 12 Pubs of Christmas Bar Hop features 12 of the Klang Valley’s favourite bars serving up delicious Christmas concoctions throughout the festive period.

Dirty Rudolf, Bar Tailor

The 12 featured bars are:

1. Bar Tailor; a unique bar in Petaling Jaya that combines delicious cocktails and bespoke suits. This holly jolly season, indulge in a Christmas In Your Mouth, which features Jameson Original paired with flavours like banana and vanilla, or a Naughty Santa that combines Jameson Black Barrel with Malibu, pineapple yoghurt, orgeat syrup, lime and egg white.

Bourgogne, Concubine

2. Concubine; Within walls that once witnessed a cornucopia of activities we do not speak of, Concubine has transformed the space into a vibrant bar and restaurant located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s rejuvenated Chinatown, offering a selection of food and drinks inspired by local delights. Be sure to try some of their Christmas creations, including a Tipsy Rudolph cocktail featuring Jameson Black Barrel, vermouth, elderflower, as well as yuzu and grapefruit bitters.

XXX-Mas, G-String

3. G-String; A cheeky little cocktail bar with risque elements that may just make you blush. Don’t be too shy to order their special Christmas cocktails – The Red Lace, Helicopter Helicopter, and XXX-Mas – which feature fun and fruity flavours to get you in the festive mood.

4. GinRikSha; Known for offering a modern take on traditional Indian dishes, GinRikSha adds a little bit of spice to the holidays with an eclectic menu complemented by a selection of unique flavourful cocktails, including the Bloody Irish Iced Tea, Jameson Whiskey Cha and Spiced Old Fashion.

5. Hood Bar; One of the newest cocktail spots in the city, Hood Bar is set to light up the festivities with its take on Christmas flavours. Check out the Extra Mulled Wine featuring Jameson Original, red wine, orange, apple and 5-spice for something inspired by a traditional Christmas drink. Or, opt for the Minty Coffee, featuring Jameson Black Barrel, mint cream, espresso and yoghurt, for a little festive pick-me-up!

Elves on P.S, Jaan

6. Jann; Located in Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, this inventive cocktail bar is inspired by the history, traditions and local culture that make up Chinatown. Even their Christmas cocktail selection features a fusion of familiar local favourites such as pandan and Milo (Christmas Morning), with Christmas staples such as Gingerbread (Elves on P.S) and Spiced Cranberry (Longest Night).

7. La Chica; From the group that brought you Rockbottom, Soul Room and Rockafellers, transport yourself to Mexico at this vibrant little cocina and bar and enjoy Christmas cocktails with a side of delectable tacos. Start the night with the fresh flavours of the Krampus featuring Jameson Original, sweet vermouth, lemon juice, osmanthus syrup and kaffir leaf, and work your way towards the Irish Berry Jam that combines Jameson Black Barrel, blueberry jam, cranberry juice and dry cranberry for a fruity burst of flavour.

8. Rockbottom Bangsar; As one of Bangsar’s neighbourhood pubs, you can always count on Rockbottom for a fun-filled night of music, good drinks and delicious comfort food. Be sure to try the Santa Claus cocktail made up of Jameson Original, Amaro Montenegro, lemon juice, sea salt, gingerbread syrup and star anise.

9. Soul Room; If you’re looking for more of a lounge experience to enjoy a great selection of cocktails, make your way over to Soul Room on Changkat Bukit Bintang. You can also enjoy the group’s Christmas cocktails – Santa Claus, Krampus and Irish Berry Jam – here.

10. The Iron Fairies; Escape to a magical place for the night at The Iron Fairies, and indulge in simple but potent cocktails such as the Jameson Bitter (Jameson Original, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters), Jameson Fashioned (Jameson Original, lemon juice, egg white, and homemade infused tea & orange peels), and the Jameson Summer (Jameson Black Barrel, elderflower syrup, orange bitters and orange peel).

11. The Hungry Tapir; A haven for vegans and vegetarians, Hungry Tapir is best known for its all-day breakfast menu, smoothie bowls and sweet (but healthy!) treats. Enjoy our version of a balanced meal with a yummy smoothie bowl in one hand, and a Jameson Christmas cocktail in the other.

12. Three X Co; As one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars of 2021, one can expect nothing short of amazing when it comes to the bar’s cocktail menu. Its Christmas menu is no different, with the team’s own variations of traditional eggnog.

On top of sampling each bar’s Christmas cocktails, patrons will have a chance to win themselves exclusive prizes during the Bar Hop period as well. Jameson’s 12 Pubs of Christmas is inspired by a pub crawl that takes place in Ireland traditionally around Christmas.

Groups of friends will venture to 12 pubs across the city with a few rules set beforehand and donning “ugly Christmas sweaters” as their uniform – the objective is to make it through the night without breaking any of the rules, and if any of the rules have been broken, a forfeit is charged (typically a shot or a dare).

Jameson Malaysia brings their own spin to this challenge by introducing challenges for patrons at the participating bars. Challenges range from the infamous Dalgona candy challenge (inspired by the popular Netflix’s Squid Game series), Jameson Twisted Pong and even a Spartan Shot Challenge. To participate, patrons will need to order one of the featured Christmas cocktails at their bar of choice.

However, for those staying in this festive season, the Christmas cocktails can still be ordered for delivery on the Bar-United platform to be enjoyed from the comforts of your home.
