Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur
Kampung Baru is a Malay enclave in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You can still find traditional wooden kampung houses with KLCC and KL Tower at the background. Kampung Baru's elders have turned developers away, saying they want to preserve their ethnic Malay lifestyle.

Besides, the old preserved houses there are many restaurants, stalls and shops selling Malay food and groceries. Every Saturday night there is Pasar Malam (night market) and during ramadhan month, Bazaar Ramadhan in Kampung Baru is one of the busiest in town. Best way to go to Kampung Baru via Putra LRT, get down at Kampung Baru Station.

Chinatown, Petaling Street
Chinatown, Petaling Street is usually crowded with locals as well as tourists. There are many stalls and shops selling goods and food. You can find most chinese food and local favourites such as hokkien mee, porridge, ikan bakar (barbecued fish), asam laksa and curry noodles. If you go in the morning, there is a wet market tucked in one of the back lane.

You can also Chinese and seafood restaurants plus stalls selling all kinds of street food and snacks along the street, resulting in an interesting mixture of aroma filling the air that is quite hard to resist. Most of the stalls open until quite late at night. You can also get to Chinatown, Petaling Street via Putra LRT, get down at Pasar Seni or Masjid Jamek station.

Brickfields is Malaysia’s Little India, that is the place where I usually go for my banana leaf rice and also hunt for saris when I have to get one for wedding or theme event. There are many Indian stores and restaurants. You can find shops sell everything from traditional Indian goods such as saris, flower garlands, spices, and Bollywood music, to local delicacies such as vadai, thosai and more besides food. Brickfields is within walking distance about 10 minutes from KL Sentral Station Putra LRT.

Well Petronas Twin Tower is the landmark of Malaysia, you get to feel the vibrant and modernization of this bustling city. Over here you can find all walks of life, races, other nationality and tourists too. Outdoor there is spacious and beautifully landscaped KLCC Park which features a jogging track, walking paths, a water fountain and a wading pool for children.

Besides the Suria KLCC Shopping mall with many retails, restaurants, and entertainments the Petronas Twin Towers has a host of other attractions including the Petronas Art Gallery and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Plus the Petrosains Science Centre, an interactive science discovery centre showcasing exhibits related to the petroleum industry, from petroleum’s origin in the age of the dinosaurs to its latest oil-based products.

If you plan to go to all these 4 places, it’s wiser to go via LRT. It is the fastest way because all these places are located in the city center high traffic. If you prefer to explore Kuala Lumpur on your own via public transportation then the best and most convenient place to stay around KL Sentral.

Station Sentral located at KL Sentral is Malaysia’s largest transit hub, is Kuala Lumpur’s integrated rail transportation centre, offering global connectivity and seamlessly linking all urban and suburban residential, commercial and industrial areas.   8. Culture and Food. I click read more right away when I see these two words! I agree with you Kelly those places are filled with so many interesting things. I just went to Little India last weekend, that place is loveee. The foods too! Felt like entering a Bollywood scene for a moment. Huhuhu
