Finally,
I get to meet the Curtis Kulig, New York street artist in person during
his meet and greet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. He is the artist behind this
remarkable work of art, made a trip to Kuala Lumpur to share about his personal
journey as an artist and explained how ‘Love Me’ was brought to life. ‘Love Me, Love Mum’ is part of a world
of artistic fusion between globally renowned brand LeSportsac and Curtis Kulig.
The
spectacular display of ‘Love Me, Love
Mum’ splashed across the Spanish Steps of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. LeSportsac’s on-going collaboration with
Kulig has resulted in a partnership with Pavilion Kuala Lumpur as the host for
the introduction to an exclusive LeSportSac Summer 2014 collection inspired by Kulig’s
notable ‘Love Me’ artwork.
This collection will only be available at LeSportsac
in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, bringing the iconic ‘Love Me’ campaign to Malaysia.
‘Love
Me’ began in 2005 as a personal sentiment and quickly evolved into an icon,
with Kulig’s simple, impulsive, two-word manifesto spotted in cities ranging
from Paris to Istanbul, Los Angeles to Berlin, taking form on rich canvases,
metal sculptures and fluid neons. A favourite in both art circles and the
commercial sphere, Kulig is rapidly becoming a household name with brands such
as DKNY, Vans, Urban Outfitters, Smashbox, Nike and Bobbi Brown. A fast-rising
star, Kulig’s signature ‘Love Me’ scrawl has also appeared as the opening
credits on Saturday Night Live. In 2011, Kulig unveiled the story behind ‘Love
Me’ on TedxTeen, inspiring audiences with his work.

For
this exclusive collection available at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Kulig created a
series of original designs for LeSportsac that range from playful water colours
and swirly scripts to bright, bold marks of his signature statement. The New
York based artist drew inspiration from classic New York summer hotspots.
