Yuhuuu!!! Last month I learned French Organic Cooking at Nathalie’s Gourmet Studion, Publika, Solaris Dutamas in conjunction with Melvita’s 30th Anniversary Celebration. It was a hands-on cooking class guided by Chef Natalie herself. We cooked our own organic lunch - main course and dessert. So what was our French Lunch menu of the day?

The French cooking journey with Melvita Malaysia kicked off after a short welcome come speech and introduction by Clarence.

We were splitted into 2 groups one will handle the main course or the lunch of the day which is the Slow Cooked Honey Glazed Chestnut Chicken with Carrot Potato Puree, Spring Vegetables and Short Jus. And another group will whipped up Rose, Lychee and Rsapberry Pavlova dessert.

Haha… I chose to learn how to make the Rose, Lychee and Raspberry Pavlova. The ingredients is quite simple mainly egg white, sugar, maizena (corn flour), rose essence, whipped cream and the fruits plus rose petals for garnishing.

But, oh yes there is always a but the process of making it needs lots of hardwork, time and steps. Pavlova is crispy on the outside with soft, creamy filling inside. Remember to 100% separate the egg yolk out, we only need the egg white. Need about 55 minutes to cook in the over and 55 minutes to cool off before garnishing. We only need the egg white Pavlova is crispy on the outside with soft, creamy filling inside.

The other group task was cooking the Slow Cooked Honey Glazed Chestnut Chicken with Carrot Potato Puree, Spring Vegetables and Short Jus. These are the ingredients that required for the dish. A varieties of organic vegetables.

See I went over to the next group to kepoh (busy body) and take pictures LOL... They have fun too :D

After the French Organic Cooking, we gather to take group picture and sing Happy Birthday to Melvita. Blow candles and cut the cake.  After that we had lunch cooked by us at Nathalie Gourmet Studio.

After we are done with the cooking, lunch is served. Hmm… we actually cooked our own lunch. I feel so proud and happy that I learned and make Pavlova that day.

Through this Organic Cooking Class, Melvita Malaysia hope to raise awareness on the importance of practicing a green, organic lifestyle.
