Imbi Palace Group Rebranding Dinner at Grand Palace Restaurant, Pavilion KL

When I stepped into the Grand Palace Restaurant at Pavilion KL that night, indeed this chinese restaurant was lavishly decorated and there were many banquet tables setup with most of the guests already arrived. It makes me feels like I am attending wedding banquet dinner. Well, I also over heard the tables in front toast and shout “Yam Seng”.

Grand Palace Restaurant at Pavilion KL

The Imbi Palace Group was established in 2003 is one of the supreme Chinese cuisine companies in Malaysia, specializes in Cantonese food ranging from the 'live' seafood to HK Dim Sum to Cantonese porridge and noodles.

Mr. Chin and Mr. Lum officiated the launch

Earlier this year in 2012, the outlet in Jalan Imbi was closed down in order to make way for development projects in the city. Being the 1st outlet where it started, it was then decided that they rebrand the image to the Imbi Palace Group in order to preserve the history and heritage in where it all began.

Today, the excellence of their food under the leadership of founder, Mr. Chin Hon Yin - a renowned chef from Hong Kong and the man behind Sheraton Towers (Singapore) who was awarded Best Chinese Cuisine for many years during his time there - and co-founder, Mr. Frances Lai, who possesses over 28 years of experience in the food supply industry.

Check the menu, wah superb!
Abalone also Ada! Ho liao!

Dinner is served!

Double Boiled Cordyceps Flower with Top Shell & Fish Maw RM 28
The first dish is always important, it is like first impression, right? First sip ahh… warm and soothing. Soup is always best for the soul. When all the ingredients combine and boiled together it produce an aromatic and sweetness in this clear soup.

Chef skinned the Golden Crisy Peking Duck

Peking Duck RM 70
Here comes the Peking Duck... quek quek quek my appetizer. Crispy Peking Duck skin eat together with Momo, the house made think pancakes, scallion, cucumber and specially prepared Hoisin sauce. The whole combination was quite additive, love the crispy duck skin and hoisin sauce.

I was busy taking pictures and taking when this dish arrived.
When I turned back only two skins left.
Duck come back don’t run away.

Pan Fried Stuff Fresh Scallop RM 14
This is one of the delicate and delicious dish, the Pan Fried Stuffed Scallops stuffed with banana prawns from the Gulf of Carpenteria. The scallops were fresh and flavourful. I finished it in two bites.

the Pan Fried Stuffed Scallops if dip into this special sauce taste even better

8 Treasures Truffle Chicken RM 80
When this dish was served on our table, hmmm… what is so special about this dish. It looks like roast chicken to me. According to the MC the dish nickname is Kuku Bird. Wait!!! After Ah Bok dissected this Kuku Bird, the treasures unveiled. Its actually hidden inside the chicken. Fuahhwahhh!!! what is that?

This 8 Treasures Truffles Chicken is stuffed with 8 types of Mushrooms and infused with Truffle sauce. The chicken meat is like roast chicken, the skin really crispy and the mushrooms inside was tasty and fragrant. The mushrooms are a little bit on the salty side, maybe it absorbed all the sauce and marinating ingredients.

with Anna and this is my lucky number 038

During the lucky draw session me, Isaac and together with three other won
South African Dry Abalone voucher

BBQ Broiled Spanish Pork Ribs RM 158
Here come my favourite dish of the night. I think most guest think this dish is the best. Do think so? The BBQ Broiled Spanish Pork Ribs perfectly marinated with herbs and spices. I like the juicy and tender meat plus the way its marinated.

Can’t get enough of this and I am coming back for this dish again with my family.

This crisp salad is served together with the BBQ Broiled Spanish Pork Ribs

Braised South African Dried Abalone RM 88 (per piece at promotion price)
This succulent half Braised South African Dried Abalone served in thick broth with baby white cabbage. Do you like abalone? I know some can’t take because of the strong fishy smell. For me is ok once a while indulge.

Lan Zhou Style Dao Xiao Mian or Lan Zhou Knife Shaved Ramen
This is handmade noodles by the Chef. The Lan Zhou Knife Shaved Ramen is served in a Pickled Vegetable Soup. It is slightly spicy, I can taste the chinese five spices and also like Szechuan spices. The soup is quite appetizing.

Braised La Mian with Shredded Duck Meat RM 18
Chef Xiao Chen demonstrated the La Mian making. Braised Noodle with Duck Meat, mushroom and vegetables. The restaurant is quite generous there were many duck meats, vegetable and mushrooms in it. The braised duck meat makes the noodle taste good and fragrant. However, this dish is a little bit oily but we still like it even though I am already quite full but I still finished my bowl of this la mian.

Coconut Pudding RM 8
Soothing and chilled coconut pudding as dessert is perfect. I like it.

Snow Skin Mooncake
We also have this snow skin lotus with salted egg yolk mooncake as our dessert. Not only that each of us get to take home 1 piece of Snow Skin Mooncake too.

This is what happened when scrumptious food, superior ambience and crazy bunch of bloggers dine together... Glad to meet and dine with you all :)

There will be a new outlet open next month at Setia City in Shah Alam with banquet facilities of over 250 tables. However there will be no pork dishes served at that new restaurant.

Thank to Imbi Palace Group for this satisfying and scrumptious dinner. That night I went back with full stomach and big smiles plus snapped many pictures during the dinner.

I will definitely come back for the Abalone, Spanish Ribs and Coconut Pudding…
