Hey have you heard of travel cake? Actually travel cakes are the classic loaf style cakes. It’s inspired by France’s ‘gateaux de voyage’ which are specialty cakes make with high quality butter that were brought from one city to another by travellers, in the past and even now. For this festive season, Anchor Food Professionals introduced the three variants of the Anchor Travel Cakes made using the aromatic premium Anchor Tinned Butter such as Chocolate Prune Travel Cake, The Earl Grey Apricot Travel Cake and the Orange Cranberry Travel Cake.

During the launch of Anchor Travel Cakes at Jam & Kaya Café, we also learnt some kitsch ideas from Anchor Food Professionals Pastry Chef on how to enjoy the travel cakes and personalized as gourmet gift.

Anchor Food Professionals Pastry Chef demonstrated how to make Chocolate Prunes Lollipop; simple sliced and served the cake with ice cream or glazed it. I find them interesting and easy to do for any adults and children parties or events.

Chocolate Prune Travel Cake, Earl Grey Apricot Travel Cake and Orange Cranberry Travel Cake

The decadent Chocolate Prune Travel Cake is a mixture of pitted prune, apricots and dark chocolate chunks encased in a moist chocolate butter cake; the Earl Grey Apricot Travel Cake is an earl grey infused apricot in fragrant earl grey tea butter cake; and Orange Cranberry Travel Cake is a plump and juicy cranberries soaked in orange juice in a buttery orange scented cake.

Out of the 3 variants of travel cake which one is your favourite? Actually all the three variants has its own specialty, we love the chocolate prunes travel cake. They are all moist, soft and smooth texture with richer aroma and shelf stable made by Anchor Tinned Butter that is made from pure and natural dairy from grass-fed cows in New Zealand.

Kindly take note that the Anchor Travel Cakes will vary in the presentation, size and packaging based on each bakery’s unique customer preference. During this period, Anchor Food Professionals will be giving away a set of designer dessert spoons with every purchase of two travel cakes at the participating bakeries.
