Osaka Maido Fair Experience, Summer, osaka summer, Osaka Castle, Universal Studio Japan, Umeda Sky Building, Dōtonbori, Billiken doll, Rakugo performance

Are you going to OSAKA? err me maybe next year. This year I have other trips planned already. For those who is going to Japan it will be good to start to do bit of research. Here I was at Osaka Maido Fair at Tokyo Street. Formally known as Naniwa, Osaka is a designated city in Kansai region and Japan's second largest city after Tokyo.

Osaka is well known for its attractive locations like Osaka Castle, Universal Studio Japan, Umeda Sky Building, Dōtonbori and etc. Well, Osaka has also been known as the "nation's kitchen" of the delicious food they have and served as a center for the rice trade during the Edo period. ‘Maido’ is a common greeting in Osaka which means thank you and welcome.

At the fair there was Osaka’s icon Billiken doll, we rub its feet for good luck and experienced the entertaining performance by Japanese Traditional Rakugo, who came all the way from Osaka to Pavilion KL for the event.

Rakugo performance is a 400 year old tradition of comic storytelling in Japan where the storyteller entertains while kneeling on a cushion. Authentic Japanese wear like the Yukata as well as the Kendama (Japanese traditional toy) will also be on sale at the fair.

Osaka Maido Fair was organized by Adventure Japan company shop and Show You Japan shop. Osaka Maido Fair brought in Osaka elements to Tokyo Street there are stalls selling Daikoku rice snacks, Osaka Travel Package promotions, Japanese lanterns, Show You Japan products such as yukatas, kendama and more.

At Osaka Maido Fair we experienced decorations inspired by Osaka streets i.e. Tsutenkaku, Dōtonbori, as well as the Osaka Billiken Doll a lucky statue which is believed to bring good luck and wishes just by rubbing his feet, and a 1X350 miniature Osaka Castle, one of Japan's most famous landmarks located in Chūō-ku, Osaka.
